We're delighted to say that your customers who invested in the Aviva Investors Multi-Strategy (AIMS) Target Return Fund have been largely insulated from recent market volatility. As you can see, the fund has proved to be the most resilient fund in its peer group, with better returns and a lower maximum drawdown despite two significant market corrections (August 2015 and December 2015/January 2016).

Fund's risk reducing strategies helped protect the fund
Year-to-date the gross return on the fund is marginally positive at +0.09% to 21 January 2016 (Source: MoneyMate Fund Focus 25 January 2016). Global equities fell by 9.53% over the same period (its peers gross returns are also negative). Unsurprisingly in such a negative environment, the market strategies have dragged on performance. However, the fund's risk reducing strategies are insulating the fund, as intended. These strategies include Eurostoxx forward variance, Long USD vs MXN, US relative value and Aussie rates.
Strong long-term track record
Producing a gross return of 8.49% from its launch on 22 October 2014 to 21 January 2016, the fund continues enjoy strong returns versus its peers. The fund's nearest competitor, the Standard Life GARS Fund, generated a gross return of 4.98% over the same period (Source: MoneyMate Fund Focus 25 January 2016).
